N. Thuy Tran was born in Saigon (Vietnam, 1971). She studied chemistry at University of Cergy-Pontoise in France (M.Sc., 1995). She defended her PhD on the development of analytical strategies for characterization of glycoprotein microheterogeneity (University of Paris-Sud, 1999). After two postdoctoral positions at the Institute of Glycobiology (University of Oxford) and at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission she joined the group of Prof. Taverna (2001). Since 2012 she is an associate professor in analytical chemistry (Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Paris-Saclay). Her research focused on development of capillary electrophoresis and its hyphenation to mass spectrometry based methods for characterization and identification of biomolecules in quality control and biomarkers (glycosylated, phosphorylated…). She developed also micro total analysis systems, integrating various analytical steps (preconcentration on new solid supports, separation, detection) for the conception of miniaturized diagnostic tools for pathologies.
